Overview
The Wilkins 2-975XL2 is a 2-inch Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) backflow preventer engineered for high-hazard potable water protection. Its compact wye-pattern bronze body provides short lay length and in-line service access to the checks and relief valve for faster maintenance.
- Lead‑free construction compliant with low‑lead plumbing laws (0.25% weighted average).
- Cast bronze body (ASTM B584) with stainless steel fasteners and Noryl seats for corrosion resistance.
- Female NPT (FNPT) x FNPT threaded ends with full-port quarter‑turn (QT) ball valves included for shutoff and service.
- 175 PSI pressure rating, 180°F temperature rating, and 350 PSI hydrostatic test rating.
- Short end‑to‑end distance (26-1/2") eases replacement and installation in constrained spaces.
- Meets ASSE 1013, AWWA C511, NSF/ANSI 61, CSA and IAPMO/CUPC listings for potable water applications.
- Wye-pattern design allows separate access to each check and the relief valve to reduce labor and repair time.
Documentation and repair parts are available; recommended for commercial, irrigation, and high-hazard potable water systems requiring RPZ protection. Follow local codes for testing and installation requirements.
