Sprinkler Timers and Sprinkler Controllers

Irrigation and sprinkler controllers are used to operate automatic sprinklers systems such as lawn sprinklers and drip irrigation systems. Most irrigation controllers use a programmable day of the week (frequency of irrigation), a programmable start time, and a programmable watering time. Some sprinkler controllers have additional features such as multiple programs, soak and cycle, ET or weather based to allow different watering frequencies for different types of plants, rain delay settings, input terminals for sensors such as rain and freeze sensors, soil moisture sensors, weather data, remote operation, etc. There are two basic types of controllers, electric multi-zone or 2-wire decoder systems.
